For the Birds...

I'm truly horrible at maintaining this blog and vow to be a bit Morr current... So far this summer has been a blast! We kicked off with an outdoor show in Redding, CT and we've been rolling ever since. I don't like listing highlights at the risk of leaving any towns or venues out however one undeniable special moment came at the beautiful venue of the Waveny House in New Canaan, CT.

Waveny's stage is set up on a spacious back patio of the old Waveny mansion overlooking a large meadow where concert-goers set up camp (picnic baskets, blankets, chairs, tables...you name it.) Directly next to the stage is a huge old tree. During the first set I noticed a bird had flown into the tree and spent the entire set facing the band. The bird never left the tree. In between songs it would jump to a different branch to get closer to the stage (as if it paid for general admission seats and was trying to sneak into the orchestra section...)

For the final song of the set the bird made it's move. The ULTIMATE seat on the lowest branch closest to the stage...It felt almost like the bird was saying "we sing for you all day...Show us what YOU have..."

Luckily bassist/vocalist Pat Ryan was at the ready with his camera...
